NYU Abu Dhabi's Class of 2020: International Diversity and Multicultural Character

Class of 2020.

323 students, 76 nationalities, speaking some 70 languages. This is NYU Abu Dhabi's Class of 2020.

With the addition of the Class of 2020, and for the first time at NYUAD, the total student population is now over 1,000 students.

UAE Nationals and Americans make up the two largest groups of students by nationality, with 43 Emirati students and 44 Americans in the Class of 2020. In addition to the United Arab Emirates and United States, students from India, Pakistan, Korea, China, Jordan, Nepal, Mexico, Egypt and Taiwan make up the next largest cohorts.

A special welcome to the Class of 2020 as they join fellow undergraduates who share their commitments to excellence, to the pursuit of ever deeper understanding, to significant creativity, and to global and humane contribution. As the new class embark with enthusiasm and courage on their college years, I know that NYU Abu Dhabi made the right choice in inviting each of these remarkable to students to be a part of our historic adventure.

NYUAD students undergo a rigorous selection and interview process and must demonstrate impressive academic credentials. In pre-arrival survey’s, members of the Class of 2020 report choosing NYUAD over some of the world’s most prestigious universities – including Oxford, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE), Brown, UC Berkeley, Swarthmore, Georgetown, University College London - for its small class sizes, rigorous and innovative curriculum, geographic location, and incredible student diversity.
