NYUAD Congratulates UAE Youth Minister Shamma Al Mazrui

Less than two years after graduation, NYU Abu Dhabi alumna Shamma Al Mazrui has landed one of the UAE's top jobs.

On February 10, Al Mazrui, (Class of 2014) was appointed Minister of State for Youth and Chair of the UAE National Youth Council. She just earned her master's from Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, and graduated NYUAD with a degree in economics.

She drew profoundly on her NYUAD education in not only receiving a Rhodes Scholarship but taking leadership in the community of the world’s Rhodes Scholars over the past year, and she will continue to draw on the qualities of that education in serving the UAE and the world, with wisdom, compassion, and remarkable impact."

Al Mazrui was born and raised in Abu Dhabi and said she is passionate about public service.
