The New York Times on NYUAD's First Executive Artistic Director

"Six years ago, Bill Bragin, the music programmer whose hyper-multicultural lineups put Joe's Pub on the international map, surprised the New York arts world by moving uptown to Lincoln Center. Now he is making an even bigger move, to Abu Dhabi."

Yesterday, The New York Times broke the news that NYU Abu Dhabi will welcome Bragin as the first executive artistic director of its Arts Center. Bragin, who will join NYUAD after six years as director of public programming for New York City's Lincoln Center, will build and shape the public arts programming on Saadiyat.

As the article stated, NYUAD Vice Chancellor Al Bloom likened Bragin's eclectic programming approach to the University’s broader educational goals. He told the paper, "It's the juxtaposition of ideas that so often allow people to grow, to break down the assumptions they've had about the way things are, and to start seeing life in a new and more possible framework."
