Class of 2017 Shares Memories of Marhaba

For the members of the Class of 2017, the Marhaba orientation is a chance to learn about the inner workings of NYUAD, meet staff and faculty members, get acquainted with their fellow classmates, have a little fun.

For the members of the Class of 2017, who arrived in Abu Dhabi a week before the fall semester began, the Marhaba orientation was a chance to learn about the inner workings of NYU Abu Dhabi, meet the staff and faculty members that will assist them on their academic journeys, get acquainted with their fellow classmates, and, of course, have a little fun before cracking open the books.

While the week was a busy one, filled with informative sessions, activities, outings, and events, the students took time out to sit together on one of the final days of Marhaba to reflect on their experiences thus far. They were asked a single question: When you look back four years from now, what Marhaba moment will you remember most vividly?

The responses followed a few main themes, but the most memorable moment can be summed up with the students' exclamation of two words: Variety Show! An opportunity for the class to get together and showcase its talents, the show included musical performances, dance routines, and more, while causing more than one or two jaws to drop. As Alexandru Rosca from Romania said, "We have so many talented people in our class that it is quite easy to forget to close your mouth."
