A Celebration of the Life and Legacy of Dr. Ken Nielsen

Ken touched many of our lives and we hope you will be able to join us in person or online to commemorate his memory. If you would like to speak briefly on stage or send a brief pre-recorded video message please let us know using the form below by Thursday, November 10.

Ken was generous with his time and encouraged so many of us as a friend, mentor, colleague and teacher. He was the Director of the Writing Center where he mentored a cohort of peer tutors, instructors and lecturers. He was instrumental in shaping the Writing Center and Writing Program into the cherished, lively resources they have become for our multilingual community. A passionate lover of theater, Ken was also a playwright, a theater historian, a scholar of Gender and Cultural Studies, and a phenomenal chef.
