Survey for First-Year Students, Fall 2020

Your first year at NYUAD will be unlike that for any other first-year students in our ten-year history. Even the first pioneering class that entered NYUAD in September 2010 did not face the exceptional challenges of public health and mobility that COVID-19 is presenting to you and all of us. We celebrate the fact that the full Class of 2024 has resolutely chosen NYUAD. We look forward to the day we can say “Marhaba” (welcome) in person!

As you know from Vice Chancellor Westermann’s announcement to you and your parents, NYUAD anticipates conducting classes largely remotely in the fall semester. This decision was taken out of consideration for the health and well being of our faculty, students, and staff, and the fact that many members of our community may not be able to travel internationally and reach the UAE in time to have a full semester here.

We know you will have many questions about what this will mean for many aspects of academic and student life. We are continuing to plan and are preparing a more detailed overview of the fall start, which will be shared with you in the coming weeks.

As part of the planning process, we would like to get some insights into your thinking about fall. Please take some time to fill out this survey by June 5. Please be assured that none of your answers will be binding. You will have a formal registration for classes later in the summer.
