Ongoing — Supporting Your Enrollment at NYU Abu Dhabi
Following your commitment deadline, NYU Abu Dhabi will begin applying for the necessary documentation to support your enrollment with us in the fall.
Securing the necessary authorizations to enroll as a student at NYU Abu Dhabi is a multi-step process that begins after you confirm your enrollment and continues throughout the summer.
Step 1: Initial Clearance (Required for All Students)
All students, regardless of nationality or country of residence, must complete an initial security clearance. This process begins shortly after you accept your offer of admission and is required in order to proceed with enrollment.
Step 2: Entry Permit
After completing the initial clearance, students residing outside the UAE must obtain a second approval for their UAE entry permit. This application can only begin within 60 days of your scheduled arrival in Abu Dhabi for Marhaba. As a result, final decisions on entry permits are typically not received until mid-July to early August.
Important Note on Timing and Outcomes
Security clearances and entry permits are issued by different authorities. While we remain hopeful that all students will successfully obtain both approvals, outcomes are not guaranteed, and timelines may vary.
Admissions Conditions
In addition to securing the required authorizations and/or student visa, your offer of admission and ability to enroll at NYU Abu Dhabi remain contingent upon:
- Successful completion of your current academic program at a level consistent with your application
