Application Process

Fall 2022 Applications

The application deadline for Fall 2022 is December 12, 2021 for the Computer Science program through the Graduate School of Arts and Science, and December 1, 2021 for the program through the Tandon School of Engineering. Please note that applications are only accepted for the fall semester, as we do not offer Spring admission.

Applicants submit a standard PhD application to one or both of the following Computer Science doctoral programs in NYU New York:

  1. Courant Institute at NYU Graduate School of Arts and Science
  2. Computer Science and Engineering Department at NYU Tandon School of Engineering

The choice of the program depends on the applicant. Consider the following:

Courant Institute

  • Applicants must have at least a bachelor degree
  • The program is five years long (one year at NYU New York and four years at NYUAD)
  • Applicants can only be advised by NYUAD faculty in Computer Science

NYU Tandon

  • Applicants must have at least a master’s degree
  • The program is four years long (one year at NYU New York and three years at NYUAD)
  • Applicants can be advised by NYUAD faculty in Computer Science or in Engineering

Applicants will be considered by the faculty in the NYU New York programs as well as the NYU Abu Dhabi programs. Applicants must select the checkbox indicating interest in NYUAD on the application form.
