Application Process

Graduate Studies in the Arts & Sciences (GSAS) Fellowship candidates apply using the standard online application for admission to a GSAS PhD program. There is no separate application for the NYUAD Global PhD Student Fellowship. Interested students should indicate their preference for conducting research at NYUAD in their PhD application to the GSAS.

Applicants will be notified of their Fellowship status upon acceptance to NYU, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Selection for the NYUAD Global PhD Student Fellowship is highly competitive, and faculty at NYU and NYUAD will take a range of factors into consideration. This may include past academic performance, test scores, recommendation letters, and research compatibility, among other criteria.

Applications open in mid-September for the following fall intake. The application deadline is typically between December 1 and December 15 for the following fall intake. Confirm the deadline by clicking on the appropriate program link below.

Please note that applications are only accepted for the fall semester, as we do not offer Spring admission.
