Lorraine Adkins is the Director of Campus Safety and Emergency Operations at NYUAD, with a wide remit covering emergency management, business continuity, and all aspects of the physical security operations spectrum.
Lorraine is a retired British Army Officer who served for 26 years in British Military Intelligence. During a successful military career, Lorraine saw active service in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, and Afghanistan and completed two operational tours in Iraq.
Lorraine was awarded the Member of the British Empire (MBE) medal in 1993 for her contribution to Operation Desert Storm in Iraq, while working as a security and intelligence analyst at the UK Ministry of Defense in Whitehall, London.
Now in her tenth year at NYUAD, Lorraine continues to use her crisis management knowledge and experience to develop campus incident response plans and emergency and business continuity protocols. Prior to her current role, Lorraine has worked as a security and intelligence consultant in the UAE, Qatar, and the UK.
Lorraine is married with two sons and a three year old grandson.
