Dear NYU Abu Dhabi Community Members,
We are excited to launch the 2022 NYU Abu Dhabi awards season for faculty and staff. As a new annual tradition, we invite students, faculty, administrators, researchers, and staff to recognize and thank extraordinary faculty and staff who continually go above and beyond the scope of their positions, and who personify the values of our institution. The nomination process is open from February 1-21, 2022. Award recipients will be recognized with a community celebration in their honor at the end of the spring semester, receive a USD 1,000 prize, and a gift commemorating their achievements.
NYUAD faculty are world-class researchers and scholars, devoted teachers and mentors, and are extraordinarily dedicated to the service of the institution and their disciplines. Nominations are sought for faculty that excel in Transformative Research, Teaching Excellence, and Distinguished Service. The selection criteria are grounded in the fundamental principles of faculty excellence outlined in the Academic Strategy and the institutional priorities of inclusion, diversity, belonging, and equity, global scholarly impact, interdisciplinarity, innovation, and collaboration. All NYUAD standing faculty members with three or more years of continuous service as standing faculty are eligible for nomination.

NYUAD staff are a group of gifted, committed, and highly competent administrative, academic, technical, and research professionals who make significant contributions to achieving the goals of the institution. The Awards provides all members of the NYUAD community with the opportunity to recognize any staff member who has demonstrated core values at an exceptional level in the performance of their roles. Competencies considered by the selection committee include integrity, respect, customer focus, teamwork, adaptability, and commitment to diversity. Additionally, leadership capabilities such as mentoring, modeling, and motivating, are categories considered for managers. We encourage the community to take this opportunity to nominate their staff and academic staff colleagues who perform above and beyond the scope of their position and responsibilities. Please consider all staff, including those who may not be in supervisory roles, who have differentiated themselves through outstanding administrative and academic work. In alignment with our IDBE values, we also ask that you think about all those who positively impact your working experience at NYUAD, across all identities. Nominations must be made using the nomination form on t faculty and staff intranet and student portal before 5pm on February 21, 2022.
