Director, Facilities Strategic Assessment and Planning
Campus Safety and Services works to provide a safe and secure environment for the NYU Abu Dhabi community and guests, and deliver high quality, essential services to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests by supporting their academic, social, and cultural needs. Areas within Campus Safety and Services include: public safety, environmental health and safety, campus planning, housing, dining, and the bookstore.
Lily Burns-Hernandez works closely with members of the community on a wide range of strategic and operational issues.
Lily has worked in higher education for almost 20 years and joined NYUAD in 2011. Prior to working at NYU Abu Dhabi, she worked in the President’s Office at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). At MIT, Lily worked with the senior leadership and the faculty officers on all faculty governance related matters. Lily has also worked in strategic roles at both Harvard Business School and Harvard Medical School.
Lily has a BA in History and French from Southern Methodist University, and a MA in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University.
