New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Project Manager reporting to the Senior Director of Portfolio Management.
The Project Manager is a pivotal role responsible for the end-to-end management of projects within the PMO’s portfolios, ensuring alignment with institutional goals. This position involves planning, executing, and finalizing projects within scope, budget, and timeline constraints. The Project Manager coordinates resources, manages team dynamics, and oversees third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects successfully. Additionally, the role includes defining project objectives, maintaining quality control throughout the project life cycle, and providing regular updates to stakeholders. This position demands a balance of technical proficiency, leadership, business analysis and strategic thinking to achieve project success and contribute to organizational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Project Management - Oversee assigned projects, ensuring delivery within time, quality, and budget constraints. Engage vendors and contractors as necessary to meet project objectives
- Business Requirements Gathering and Documentation - Conduct business requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation to support project objectives
- Reporting and Risk Management - Maintain timely reports on tasks and deliverables, and keep an updated risks/issues log
- Change Management - Manage stakeholder engagement, deliver training and user adoption programs, and prepare communications related to project changes
- Financial Management - Oversee project expenses, procurement, and finances related to assigned projects/tasks
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (such as Information Technology, Business Administration)
- Relevant certifications in Project Management
Preferred Education:
- Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Project Management (such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or other related certification)
- Service Management (such as ITIL)
Required Experience:
- 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience in project management, business analysis and change management
- Experience managing HR operational and transformation projects
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong planning and organizing capabilities
- Exceptional communication skills
- Proficiency in project management techniques and tools
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in working with project management delivery and technology solutions
- Active role in complex projects. Support of a large user base in a higher education
- Leadership potential and influence
- Strong team collaboration skills
- Adaptability to changing project requirements
- Proficiency in MS Project or equivalent project management software
- Proficiency in data management to ensure accuracy and integrity of project-related data in NYUAD systems
- Knowledge of data privacy and security best practices to safeguard sensitive information throughout the project lifecycle
