New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Senior Compensation Analyst reporting to the Director, Compensation, Benefits and HRIS. 

The Senior Compensation Analyst will be working in a team environment, responsible for Compensation, Benefits, Payroll and HRIS administration with primary focus and responsibility for compensation. Emphasis on job description review, job analysis, job evaluation, survey participation and analysis, assessing market trends and recommending and developing competitive compensation and benefit programs.  Provide salary recommendations and administer annual salary increase program.  Lead on all leave plans administration, and provide support for benefits and payroll administration and back-up support for other team members.  Analyze and recommend process improvements and policy recommendations.  Work closely and partner with colleagues in the New York office.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Compensation: In conjunction with the NY team, administer, and maintain the job evaluation system for NYUAD campus roles.  Maintain/update the Job Family documentation, evaluation records, and other associated supporting documentation. Administer job evaluation process to ensure appropriate classification of positions. Interview department supervisors and employees to draft job descriptions and identify changes in responsibilities.  Recommend classifications and salary structure levels.  Analyze internal and external salary data and recommend benchmark data to ensure competitiveness with external market and ensure internal equity. Participate in compensation surveys, analyze results and provide findings to ensure competitiveness.  Identify and resolve potential internal equity issues; review and recommend approval of salaries above recruitment ranges and salaries for certain internal transfers/promotions and/or unique situations. Negotiate and recommend solutions to facilitate general salary increase requests.  Administer the annual salary review process by maintaining the required spreadsheets and administering the plans per the policy guidelines
  • Leave Absence Management: Manage and administer leave programs (all time off and leave of absence types), including updating and recommending system improvements. Ensure that all leave records are accurate and up-to-date. Advise all NYUAD employees on various types of time off and leave of absence management procedures. Monitor and track unpaid leaves and liaising with HRIS & Payroll teams to work on compensation adjustments. Conduct regular workshops to ensure all NYUAD time off eligible employees are aware of leave policies and procedures. Maintaining and providing relevant leave reports for various purposes including audit, ensuring accuracy of records etc. Collaborating with the HRIS team to enhance time off and leave of absence workflows and troubleshooting system issues experienced. Review and Approve overtime submissions in line with the approved policies and procedures. Partner with the finance teams for leave and other financial provisions / accruals
  • Administer the separation compensation process, including the calculations of final settlements, end-of-service, and other reward-related settlements. Partner with the Employee Relations team on separation cases, and ensure alignment with labor laws, OGC advice, and separation and waiver-related requirements. Oversee the compensation-related departure process for all NYUAD employees including voluntary separations and end of fixed term contract departures. Evaluate and recommend changes to the off-boarding process on a yearly basis to ensure its effectiveness including updating and recommending system improvements. Review and recommend changes to separation and other relevant off-boarding policies and procedures where necessary. Provide reports and analysis of departures on turnover rates and metrics for utilization by key internal HR and external stakeholders. Collaborate with all internal and external off-boarding stakeholders to enhance and ensure off-boarding is run smoothly. Advising leavers and managers on the departure process. Managing terminations on PeopleSync for all NYUAD leavers. Prepare reports on key exit metrics to be utilized by HR and respective departments to assist with enhancing working conditions at NYUAD
  • Benefits: Provide regional analysis, recommendation and administration of allowances such as housing, transportation and other standard benefits such as health insurance, life and disability insurance, retirement, private school fee payments and home travel.  Provide support in the administration of new enrollments and changes for current employees for health and retirement plans.  Respond to and resolve employee inquiries or concerns regarding benefits, services and coverage issues.  Working with the Compensation and Benefits Team, administer the annual open enrollment for health insurance, manage relationships with vendors.  Help to resolve service issues and improve and streamline processes
  • Oversee maintenance of the job description database (JDX). Partner with the HRBP team and hiring managers to create or update job descriptions. Manage JDX system enhancements in partnership with the HRBP team and the project team

Required Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field 
  • Professional certification in HR and/or Reward Management

Preferred Education: 

  • Master's Degree preferably in HR 

Required Experience: 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in HR, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include job evaluation and compensation administration experience
  • Proven consulting skills; ability to drive business goals through HR strategies and to address issues / devise solutions with creativity and innovation
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to delegate responsibility, set priorities, and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to cultivate and sustain strong partnerships with internal and external clients and colleagues
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Exceptional systems skills; and web intelligence. Advanced MS Excel / Access skills required. Ability to drive and sustain operational excellence and to develop controls

Preferred Experience: 

  • Arabic or other regional language skills
  • Knowledge of payroll and benefits administration in the UAE. Knowledge in ERP systems, such as Workday, People Soft, etc
