Tiantian Zheng is a Postdoctoral Associate working with Professor Tuka Alhanai at the Center for Quantum and Topological Systems (CQTS). Her background is in biological physics and data science/machine learning, and she is currently working on integrating methods from topological data analysis and deep learning on topological data structures into machine learning applications for improved performance and interpretability.

Topological data analysis provides tools for capturing high-level features describing the shape of data across multiple scales, and has been successful in learning representations of unstructured or complex structured data. Additionally, topological deep learning is an emerging field which extends tools for modeling networks beyond graph neural networks, by incorporating higher order relationships between entities. Zheng is particularly interested in applications towards complex and high dimensional data, such as biological structure and sequencing data.
