Yufeng Wu completed a PhD in Human Geography at University College London (UCL). He also holds an MSc in Urban Economic Development from UCL and a BSc in Economics from City University of London. His doctoral research explored the interrelations between family structures and migration processes in China, employing life course theory to analyze migration decisions, social integration, and return intentions.
Throughout his academic career, Wu has published widely on migration and urban development topics. His key publications include "The Geography of Married Migrants’ Family Structures in Contemporary China" in Applied Geography and "Family Structure of Migrant Workers and Long-Term Local Settlement Intention in China" in Population, Space and Place. He has presented at major international conferences, such as the Migration Research Conference in Sheffield and the Chinese Migration, Diaspora and Mobility Conference at the University of Cambridge
