Learn the basics of how to prepare for a three-minute thesis talk.

Workshop 2: Narrative writing - How to craft a story | 4-6pm
This workshop will teach participants fundamentals of narrative and its power in effective communication. From there, participants will learn how to better construct their three-minute thesis presentations with strong narrative principles.

This workshop will look at the foundations of good delivery, highlighting five key areas that need to be considered every time you deliver a message.

Workshop 4: Adapting Your Presentation to Different Mediums | 2-4pm
This workshop will address how the venue or occasion of the speech and media you are working with impacts your message, and how to leverage the situation to your advantage as a speaker. We will also discuss visual aids, how to use them to supplement your delivery, and what to do and what not to do in slide design.

GradSlam 1:1 Sessions for finalists | 10am-1pm
A chance for our GradSlam Finalists to meet with our coaches for a 1:1 session to refine their three-minute presentation. Finalists will be able to book a 30-minute session.

Workshop 5: Loosening Up and In Person Rehearsals for Finalists | 2-5pm
Finalists of GradSlam 2023 will learn about speech anxiety and stage fright and practice skills to overcome them alongside having the chance to rehearse your actual presentation and get feedback before the final competition.
