Shaheen Anis is a Research Associate at the NYUAD Water Research Center. She obtained her PhD from Khalifa University of Science and Technology. During her PhD, Anis developed novel hydrocracking nanofibers in collaboration with ADNOC. She continued her interest in catalytic materials and applied them for water treatment applications at NYUAD, where she has developed several novel water treatment membranes to treat wastewater.
Her primary research interests include zeolite membranes, electrically conductive ceramic membranes, and mixed matrix membranes to treat harsh waste waters. Anis is also working on developing novel antibacterial materials that have immense potential in water treatment, food packaging, and biomedical applications.
