Pilot Facilities

The center also houses state-of-the-art lab-scale pilot tests for reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, membrane distillation, and forward osmosis. Pilot-scale membrane manufacturing equipment including casting, rolling, and drying equipment to manufacture commercial sized membrane elements are currently being purchased. In addition, the center is equipped with large-scale pilot units for microfiltration, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, and nanofiltration to test developed desalination membranes and facilitate upscaling technologies developed at the center.
