Samuel A. Prieto is a Postdoctoral Associate at the New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). Currently, he is part of the research team at the S.M.A.R.T. Construction Research Group at NYUAD, conducting research in the areas of automation and robotics in construction, social robots, and human-machine interaction (HMI).

His research experience focuses on mobile autonomous robots. He has previously worked with multiple professional robotic platforms, 3D scanners, and robotic arms in order to perform different autonomous operations in the construction field. Samuel also has experience using robotic educational platforms aimed to introduce people to STEAM Education.

Samuel earned his PhD from the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain) in 2019 and his BSc in Industrial Engineering in 2015, also from the University of Castilla-La Mancha. During his PhD, he was a visiting researcher at the Institute for Sustainable Building Design, Heriot-Watt University (United Kingdom).
