Semih Sonkor is a Research Assistant at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). He conducts his research as a member of the S.M.A.R.T. Construction Research Group at NYUAD. His research interests include investigating the cybersecurity risks of utilizing operational technology (OT) on smart construction sites and developing a cybersecurity framework to systematically address risks, threats, and vulnerabilities on-site.

Semih has five years of industry experience in two international construction projects as a field engineer and project controls engineer. He has professional experience in planning, cost estimating, budgeting, and risk management of construction projects.

Semih attended the European Master's Program in Building Information Modeling (BIM A+) and received his Master's degree from the University of Ljubljana and University Minho in 2020. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from Bogazici University, Turkey.
