Daniel Yao is a PhD candidate of New York University and New York University Abu Dhabi. He is a member of S.M.A.R.T. Construction Research Group, with Professor Borja García de Soto as his supervisor. His research interests focus on the application of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) on risk management in the construction industry. He holds both a bachelor's and master's degree from Southwest Petroleum University, China, and was once an exchange researcher to the Clausthal University of Technology, Germany, and University of Calgary, Canada. Currently, he holds two patents granted, four papers published, and has received a number of awards for excellent academic achievements, including TOEFL 118, IELTS 8.5.
Currently working on machine learning applications on cyber risk analysis in the construction industry.
