Research Areas: Neurolinguistics; psycholinguistics; semantics

Ryan Law is primarily interested in how language constructs and conveys meaning. He is currently investigating how words or phrases are combined syntactically and semantically. Methods he uses to study these topics include probing naïve speakers' linguistic intuitions, tracking eye-movements and monitoring brain activity during written or spoken language comprehension. Populations of interest include healthy adults and typically-developing children. He is also developing skills in modeling language comprehension computationally. Before joining NYU Abu Dhabi, he was an undergraduate at University College London.
