Irina Sinenko is a postdoctoral associate at New York University Abu Dhabi, working in the Laboratory for Advanced Neuroengineering and Translational Medicine (LANTRN) led by Khalil Ramadi, within the Division of Engineering. She is part of a biomedical engineering research group focused on translational challenges at the interface of engineering and medicine.

Sinenko received her PhD in Molecular Life Sciences from École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, with doctoral research conducted in collaboration with the Jules-Gonin Eye Hospital. Her doctoral work focused on the development of human-relevant 2D and 3D disease models and phenotypic screening platforms for clinically aligned therapeutic evaluation. She was supported by the EPFLinnovators Fellowship and received multiple academic distinction awards during her undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral training.

Sinenko is the author of multiple peer-reviewed publications, including first-author articles in Cancer Science, Experimental Eye Research, and the Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry. Her research spans translational disease modeling, drug screening, and radiopharmaceutical chemistry, with experience across international research institutions in Europe, the US, and the Middle East, and includes ongoing scholarly work under review and in preparation. Her research interests broadly encompass translational biomedical engineering, therapeutic discovery and evaluation, and the development of experimental systems that support clinically relevant decision-making.
