Research Areas: Attention, Memory, Visual Perception, Cognitive Control
Edyta is a postdoctoral associate in the Fougnie lab. She completed Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Groningen, Netherlands, where she studied interactions between attention and working memory, using psychophysics and EEG. Her research interests lie in the intersection of attention, memory, and visual perception.
The human brain is constantly bombarded by an enormous amount of information from the external world. Edyta Sasin’s research aims to understand how certain information from the environment is selected and encoded in working memory and which pieces of this information will be retained in memory for longer, and why. Furthermore, her research investigates how the selection of information within working memory interacts with selection in perception and how we can control what to remember and what to forget.
