Xiaolin is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Center for Interacting Urban Networks (CITIES), New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), UAE. She received her PhD in Transport Modeling from the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS), Business School, University of Sydney (2025), supported by the competitive Enhanced Business School Research Scholarship. Before her doctoral studies, Gong earned her Master’s degree in Transportation Systems from the Technical University of Munich, Germany (2019). Her research focuses on transport modeling, predictive analysis, and the integration of emerging vehicle technologies into urban mobility systems.
At NYUAD, Gong is working on modular vehicles and developing an integrated design framework for door-to-door feeder services that connect to modular transit corridors, with a focus on sustainable and equitable urban transport solutions. She has published several peer-reviewed papers in elite journals, including Transportation Research Part B/ Part E, and other leading outlets in Transportation. Gong has presented her work at major international conferences/symposium such as the TRB Annual Meeting, the International Symposium on Dynamic Traffic Assignment, and the Transport Research Association for NSW Annual Symposium, receiving recognition including the Highly Commended Presentation Award and the Best Research Pitch Award.
