Julian Lechuga Lopez has a double Master’s degree in Mathematics and Informatics with specialization in Data Science MIDS from Université Paris Cité (2021). Born and raised in Mexico, he obtained a BSc degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey ITESM (2016). In 2018, he was awarded a research fellowship from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency JICA to work under the supervision of Tomohito Yamamoto at the Kanazawa Institute of Technology. In 2023, he joined New York University Abu Dhabi as a research assistant, and in the fall of 2023, started his PhD studies in Computer Science and Engineering at New York University. He is very passionate about the use of machine learning and deep learning in different areas of healthcare to develop applications that can positively impact the lives of people across the globe.

Current Research

Multimodal deep learning and uncertainty quantification methods in healthcare. Current applications of research: phenotype classification and mortality prediction for ICU patients, and breast cancer patients prognosis.
