Intellectual property rights in the specific documents and photographs constituting al Mawrid's digitized archives of Arab art (Archives) may vest and remain in the relevant custodian or donor of the collections or in New York University in Abu Dhabi Corporation (NYUADC). The use of each Archive is governed by an agreement for each collection. It is the researcher’s obligation to obtain permission from the legal custodian and/or third parties as necessary, before publishing or otherwise distributing materials found in the Archives.
al Mawrid cannot provide legal rights to publish material, (except for those collections where NYUADC holds these rights). Such rights must instead be obtained from the relevant rights holders of any materials you wish to publish. NYUADC al Mawrid takes no responsibility for any infringement of copyright laws or third-party rights in the publication of the material without the required authorization.
In cases where images in the Archives are available online at low resolution. al Mawrid provides high-resolution images upon request, for which an Archive Reproduction Form should be submitted. However, for Archives that are not available online and that can only be accessed at al Mawrid's offices, additional permissions and/or fees may be applicable for the desired access or use.
