Twenty global leaders from NYU Abu Dhabi selected to drive social change as Millennium Fellows

Selected out of over 60,000 applicants, NYU Abu Dhabi students look to drive meaningful social change in real-time

NYU Abu Dhabi’s Millennium Fellows have been selected to engage in virtual programming, peer collaboration, and global networking with students from over 290 campuses, each serving as incubators for innovation.

The Millennium Fellowship program is a global leadership development initiative led by the UN Academic Impact (UNAI) and the Millennium Campus Network (MCN) to convene undergraduate leaders in driving projects aiming to tackle climate change, build inclusive communities, and reimagine education, among others.

The Fellowship reflects NYUAD’s mission to cultivate globally minded leaders to address pressing world issues. The University is one of four universities in the UAE selected to host the prestigious semester-long Millennium Fellowship.

NYU Abu Dhabi students are defined by their sense of purpose and responsibility to the world around them. Their selection as Millennium Fellows affirms their ability to turn knowledge into action and reflects the strength of an education that values global awareness, critical thinking, and social responsibility. It is a testament to NYUAD’s mission to empower students to make a lasting and positive impact on the world.

Fabio Piano, Interim Vice Chancellor

The program will culminate in a global graduation online ceremony in November 2025, where participants will earn a certificate of recognition from the UNAI and the MCN.
