Why did you choose New York for your study away semester?
I chose New York for a few reasons. First, they offered specialized courses like the Production Design course at NYU Tisch, which I was very interested in. Secondly, it is such a culturally diverse and rich city, especially with the large Latin American community, that I really wanted to experience and immerse myself in a place that was closer to home, with people who shared my background. Third, New York is such an eclectic city that I chose it because I knew it would inspire my creativity and push me out of my comfort zone, providing invaluable life and academic lessons.

How did your time in New York shape your academic journey and perspectives?
The Production Design course that I took during my semester away at NYU Tisch definitely cemented that set design in film was what I wanted to pursue as a future career after graduation. I also met so many new people from so many different backgrounds, especially in my arts classes, who provided new approaches to the artistic process that I have incorporated in my work over the last few semesters. Finally, the city was so alive, and I got to explore so many new places and attend so many events that I've never felt more creatively fulfilled and inspired.
What was the most memorable part of your study abroad experience, and why?
The most memorable part of my study abroad experience was the memories I made with my close friends. We were so excited to be there and so committed to exploring every neighborhood and area of the city that we would have little adventures every weekend. It not only made us grow closer, but it allowed us to experience an incredible city together and appreciate it even more, since our different interests and preferences allowed for a more diverse range of activities that we would do and things we would discover.
