What is Parent and Family Marhaba?

Orientation at NYU Abu Dhabi is called Marhaba, meaning "welcome" in Arabic. Parent and Family Marhaba is designed to welcome families/guardians of entering first-year students into the NYUAD community.

Parent and Family Marhaba offers a range of virtual sessions to help familiarize families with NYU Abu Dhabi and know what to expect from their student’s first semester at university. Parent and Family Marhaba will include conversations with university senior leadership, faculty and representatives from the Student Health Center.

Parent and Family Marhaba will take place online on the following dates:

  • Saturday, August 7, 2021, 4:15-8pm (Gulf Standard Time, GST)
  • Sunday, August 8, 2021, 5-8pm (Gulf Standard Time, GST)

All sessions offered are free of charge and optional.

Registering for Virtual Parent and Family Marhaba 2021

Registration is free of charge. All sessions are optional so parents can pick and choose topics they are interested in. Zoom links for sessions will be shared via email with participants who have signed up. Recordings for some sessions will be shared with parents via email, and will be available for a limited time after the program.
