Parent Marhaba

What is Parent Marhaba?

Orientation at NYU Abu Dhabi is called Marhaba, meaning "welcome" in Arabic. Parent Marhaba is designed for parents/guardians of entering first-year students.

During Parent Marhaba we offer a range of sessions and activities to inform parents about what their student’s life and education will be like for the next four years. Parent Marhaba will include tours of the NYUAD campus, conversations with senior leadership and faculty, as well as opportunities to explore Abu Dhabi.

Parent Marhaba is completely optional and space is limited. Costs associated with participation, including travel and accommodation, are the responsibility of the participants. Only participants who have registered for Parent Marhaba by the deadline and have received confirmation of their registration will be eligible to attend. Pre-registration is required.

Parent Marhaba 2019 Dates: August 16-18, 2019

When You Arrive in Abu Dhabi

Should you be arriving on the same flight as your student to Abu Dhabi, you are welcome to escort your student to campus. However, you will not be able to ride in the NYUAD-provided transportation (if your student is receiving this transportation). You can either take a cab with your student to campus or they can meet you directly on campus.

Families/guardians are only able to visit student rooms during the Residential Open House.
