Required Additional Documentation

NYU verifies the financial information provided on the CSS Profile as part of its first-year undergraduate applicant population. If your application is selected, we will gather documentation from you for review. If information in your documentation is unclear or conflicting, we may ask you for additional documentation. Once the documentation is reviewed, we will ensure that the information provided on your CSS Profile is accurate by making any necessary corrections.

For students who submit the CSS Profile for institutional scholarship consideration will be notified via email that NYU needs documentation. NYU will send that request to the email address that you provided on your admission application, closer to the CSS Profile deadline for the admission notification that you applied to (i.e., ED I, ED2, or Regular Decision). You will also see the requirement on your NYU Applicant Portal checklist.  Additionally, IDOC/CollegeBoard will notify you that you have access to the IDOC portal. NYU uses the CollegeBoard's Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC) to access sensitive documentation from students.

You will need to log in to the CollegeBoard IDOC portal using your CBFinAid ID. NYU only has access to the IDOC platform for the students who have been selected for CSS Profile verification.

How to Upload Documents to IDOC

1. Go to the IDOC portal.
2. Click the Login to IDOC button, and you'll be asked for some basic information to validate your identity.
3. Under Academic Year You Will Attend, select 2026-2027.
   1. Enter two of the identifiers asked.
4. Click the box for Site Terms and Conditions.
5. Click the Sign-In button.
6. Once you have logged into your account, you'll need to submit the required documentation as listed above.

Please note, students requesting a CSS Profile waiver for their non-custodial parent should not submit it through the IDOC platform, but instead should follow the specific instructions on the CSS Profile Waiver Request for the Noncustodial Parent form (PDF, 221 KB).

For the CSS Profile verification, students should submit documentation for themselves and any parent(s) who are included on their CSS Profile application.

Students whose parents are divorced or separated (or are unmarried and do not live together) and were also required to submit a CSS Profile for their non-custodial parent’s household will need to provide information for both the custodial parent’s household and the non-custodial parent’s household. If you were approved for a CSS Profile Waiver Request for the Noncustodial Parent (PDF, 221 KB), you only need to submit documents for your custodial parent’s household.
