Ensure Your Passport is Valid Beyond April 2020
In May you will receive important communications from our Campus Life and Global Education offices. You will be asked to submit a copy of your passport so that we can start processing student residency visas for any student located outside the UAE. To ensure this process goes smoothly, please follow the instructions below if your passport will expire in the next two years.
If Your Passport Will Expire Before April 2020
Please start the process of renewing your passport IMMEDIATELY. You MUST renew your passport in order for us to apply for your student visa.
If Your Passport Will Expire Between May 2020 and August 2021
We strongly recommend that you renew your passport now, if possible. Renewing your passport now will ensure that we can not only apply for a student visa for you to join NYUAD in the fall, but will also ensure that you are able to apply for visas for further travel opportunities you may wish to pursue during your first two years on campus.
Students admitted to NYU Abu Dhabi as part of the Class of 2023 will receive an email in early May with information about how to set up their NYUAD email address and how to gain access to the NYUAD student portal.
You should have received an email about joining a Facebook group for admitted students — if you haven't received that invitation, and if you have any questions at all about your admission to NYU Abu Dhabi, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Activate Your NYU Email
You will not be able to activate your NYU NetID (network identification) until you receive the initial communication from NYUAD in May. That email will provide you with instructions on how to activate your email. It will be important for you to activate your NYU NetID immediately as all future communications will be sent solely to your nyu.edu email address.
If you have forgotten your NYU password, you will need to reset it.
Emails from NYUAD
If you are not receiving emails from NYUAD it is possible that you’ve activated your NYU NetID, but did not activate your NYU email. You can activate your NYU email easily by going to the start page and select the link "Google Apps for Education Password." Once you set the password, your email will be activated.
Enroll for Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)
MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) is standard within NYUAD. You will require this to access the student portal and NYU email. Follow the steps to enroll for MFA (NetID required).
Submit Your Final Transcript
Please arrange with your high school counselor or IB Coordinator to have your final transcript sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in New York or Abu Dhabi. Final transcripts can be submitted by your counselor through the Common Application, by email to email@example.com from your counselor’s school email address, or by mail to either of the following addresses:

Delayed Final Transcripts
Many students will not have their final transcripts by the deadline for a variety of reasons (IB results or A-levels may not be in yet). If your transcripts will not be available until later on in the summer, you are automatically granted an extension to the deadline. Once final or provisional results are available your school must submit them to Admissions immediately.
You will have access to your financial support award, provided that you filed a CSS Profile and Profile/Waiver for your noncustodial parent, if applicable. The Profile(s), and any supporting financial documentation (if requested), are required for all students wishing to be considered for need-based institutional aid.
You may access your award offer in NYU Albert. From the NYU Albert page, click the Academics tab, then Applicant Login, select Financial Aid, followed by Accept/Decline Financial Awards for "2020".
Your award letter is available for you to view and sign on your To Do List. Be advised that signing the award letter is not a confirmation of your admission to NYU Abu Dhabi. You should read the award letter carefully as it will outline the details and requirements of your financial support offer. You may view the 2019-2020 estimated Cost of Attendance on NYU Albert.
If you are expected to receive financial support from a source outside of your family, please notify the Office of Financial Support at firstname.lastname@example.org immediately. Such support may be in the form of government grants, scholarships from community organizations, or other sources. Any such financial support from an external source will be considered in determining the amount of financial support you ultimately receive from NYU Abu Dhabi. Your combined awards cannot exceed the annual cost of attendance.
