Global PhD Student Fellowship in Mathematics
The NYU Abu Dhabi Global PhD Student Fellowship in Mathematics is offered in collaboration with Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and the Graduate School of Arts and Science at NYU New York.
The Department occupies a leading position in pure and applied mathematics and the PhD program is for students who wish to pursue a career in academic research and teaching, as well as in the private and public sectors. Consistent with its scientific breadth, the Institute welcomes applicants whose primary background is in quantitative fields such as economics, engineering, physics, or biology, as well as mathematics. Doctoral students take advanced courses in their areas of specialization, followed by a period of research and the preparation and defense of the doctoral thesis.
The program generally involves one to two years of classwork at NYU New York, followed by three to four years of research at NYU Abu Dhabi. If selected, the doctorate is fully funded under the NYU Abu Dhabi Global PhD Student Fellowship.
