Instructor of Engineering
Affiliation: NYU Abu Dhabi
Education: BSc and MSc, American University of Sharjah
Research Areas: Fluid Mechanics; Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Wahib Mufid Salim received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the American University of Sharjah (AUS) with a Summa Cum Laude honor. He then went on to pursue his master of science degree in mechanical engineering at AUS. In turn, he developed and successfully defended his master's thesis on the topic of numerical simulation of multiphase slurry flow taking into account erosion phenomenon.
During his graduate study, he was appointed as a teaching and research assistant which involved assisting professors and laboratory instructors in teaching students different courses, and working on a research study for General Electric (GE). His research interests lie in the field of fluid mechanics with special interest in aerodynamics, turbulence, vortex flows, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). However, he is very keen to explore other topics such as dynamics, bioflows, and experimental fluid mechanics. He also co-authored multiple academic papers on the topics of CFD and swirl flow.
