Shafiya Sabah graduated from Ajman University as Head of the Class in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering. She received MSc degree in biomedical engineering from the American University of Sharjah (AUS) in 2020 with a research focus on image-based respiratory motion management techniques. Along with graduate studies she also worked as a graduate teaching assistant for computer programming and digital systems courses at AUS.

She joined the Bioengineering Program at New York University, Abu Dhabi in June 2021 as an associate instructor. Her role as an instructor involves supporting faculty members with bioengineering core courses. Her research interest includes medical image and signal processing, biomechanics, healthcare management, medical electronics, and instrumentation.
