Michael Martinez
Michael Martinez serves as Assistant Vice Provost for Student Success (AVPSS) under the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. Michael oversees the John Sexton and Lisa Goldberg Academic Resource Center (ARC), supports individual student cases, and leads the coordination of support resources across NYUAD’s extensive network of advising, coaching, and tutoring. Michael previously served as Dean of Students at NYUAD.
Michael has spent most of his career supporting the undergraduate student experience at American liberal arts colleges, including Haverford College in Philadelphia, PA and at Bates College in Maine. Prior to working in higher education, Michael led a non-profit college access program for low-socioeconomic, public high school students in his home state of Texas.
Michael earned a masters in education at the University of Pennsylvania and a masters of business administration from Babson College. As an undergraduate, he majored in religion at Princeton University. Michael also teaches a masters level course at the University of Pennsylvania on "Co-curricular Student Engagement in a Global Context."
