New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD)  seeks to appoint a Communications Coordinator in Arts & Humanities, reporting to Associate Dean of Administration and Planning, Arts and Humanities.

The Communications Coordinator will support  in the strategic development and day-to-day execution of the Arts and Humanities Division’s online presence. This role focuses on showcasing the division's academic excellence, faculty research, and artistic performances to a global audience, including prospective students, alumni, and the local UAE community. The Coordinator is responsible for creating, planning, developing, implementing and maintaining a consistent, engaging, and effective social media presence for a company aligned with its brand values.

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Content Creation

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with NYUAD’s branding guidelines. Produce high-quality, multimedia content (short-form videos, photography, and graphics) using tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and other NYUAD supported AI tools to showcase A&H’s faculty and student work. Monitor engagement analytics and produce performance reports. Optimize content for platform-specific formats and audience growth.Coordinate social campaigns for lectures, performances, exhibitions, conferences, and student initiatives

Management of in-person and digital divisional presence

  • Serve as the "virtual voice" of the division as well as represent the division in-person at community events. Monitor and respond to comments and inquiries in a timely, professional manner to foster a vibrant online community. Update and maintain divisional webpages in coordination with central Communications. Ensure accurate, timely publication of events, faculty profiles, and program information

Social Media coverage

  • Provide social media coverage for division events, including gallery openings, performances, and guest lectures, to drive attendance and engagement

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Work closely with the NYUAD External Relations and Communications team to ensure messaging is consistent with the university’s overall mission and global dialogue

Required Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Arts Administration, or a related field

Required Experience: 

  • 3+ years of proven experience managing professional social media accounts, developing content, preferably within higher education or the arts
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Instagram (Reels), TikTok, LinkedIn, and Facebook, with knowledge of social media management tools
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional storytelling and copywriting skills, with the ability to translate complex academic subjects into accessible, engaging content for the general public
  • Cultural Competence: Deep understanding of the Middle East media landscape and cultural nuances relevant to Abu Dhabi

Preferred Experience: 

  • 1+ years experience in crisis communication and reputation management
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic is highly desirable for reaching local and regional audiences
