Research Areas: Shared Mobility; Ride-Hailing Platforms; Electric Vehicle Adoption; Agent-Based Modeling; Reinforcement Learning; Urban Transport Systems

Yue Yang is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at New York University Abu Dhabi, working under the supervision of Professor Elisabetta Cherchi. He received his PhD in Transportation (Operations Research) from the University of Sydney, where his dissertation focused on the management and operation of the supply side in ride-hailing platforms. He also holds a master’s degree in Transportation from Beihang University and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Science and Technology Beijing.

Yang’s research lies at the intersection of shared mobility, on-demand transport services, and autonomous systems. He has recently begun exploring the application of large language models (LLMs) in agent-based simulations and transport policy design. His work has been published in leading journals such as Transportation Research Part B and IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, and he has presented at numerous international conferences, including TRISTAN XI and the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting.

Yang is the recipient of several academic awards, including the 2024 Faculty of Engineering Career Advancement Award at the University of Sydney, the Best Oral Presentation Award at the TRANSW Symposium, and the Best Paper Award at the 11th International Workshop on Computational Transportation Science. He regularly serves as a reviewer for top-tier journals in the transportation field.
