Cody Arlie Reed earned his PhD in Sociology from Cornell University in August 2025, specializing in social stratification, urban inequality, and computational social science. Prior to beginning his formal sociological training, he earned National Registry Paramedic certification in 2012. He subsequently earned a BS in Sociology from the University of South Dakota in 2017 and an MA in Sociology from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte in 2019.
Reed's current work combines computational social science and spatial analysis to examine the relationship between demographic topology and urban movement networks. During his doctoral studies, Reed was supported by a Sage Doctoral Fellowship at Cornell University and was recognized as an Inequality Graduate Fellow by Cornell's Center for the Study of Inequality.
