Sounds of Sir Bani Yas Island

Listen to the sounds of Sir Bani Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, home to the UAE's largest wildlife reserve, founded in 1977 by H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

NYU Abu Dhabi's Sounds of Sir Bani Yas Island project is led by Carlos Guedes, associate arts professor, who takes his classes to the island to record free roaming animals and birds at different locations across the 87 square kilometer island, with the help of biologist Bilal Kabeer. The recordings are then uploaded onto an interactive website.
