Iraj Gholami

Research Scientist Affiliation: NYU Abu Dhabi
Education: PhD Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute), Potsdam, Germany

Research Areas: Data Science; Machine Learning; AI (Artificial Intelligence); MRI imaging

Iraj Gholami is a physicist working in the direction of data analysis. After finishing his PhD in 2007 at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute) in Germany, he did about five years of postdoctoral, mainly at the university of Goettingen in Germany, in the direction of statistical physics. He then joined the industry as a technical support and developer in multiphysics simulation software. In 2018, he returned to academia at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization in Goettingen as a data scientist. Since then, he has focused on modern Data Science and Machine Learning as well as AI algorithms implementation. Iraj joined Rokers Lab in August 2022 and works here as a Research Scientist toward implementing data science, machine learning, and AI in MRI imaging.

Research

Currently working on Pipelines to analyze the MRI data, such that less work and effort be required from the user. We are also working on OCT data and apply AI techniques in order to enhance the accuracy of analysis.
