Marie completed her BSc and MSc in Sydney, Australia (UNSW, USyd). Since then, she has held a variety of positions including outreach officer in marine protected areas in Croatia and France, training officer at the Marine Stewardship Council (London) and research lead at the NGO Coral Cay Conservation (Philippines). More recently, she completed her PhD at the University of the West of Scotland (UK) where she investigated fish population and behavioural responses to large-scale coral reef restoration activities in Sulawesi (Indonesia). She now looks forward to taking on her new role as Postdoctoral Research Associate at NYUAD, exploring the impact of the Arabian Gulf's extreme environmental conditions on reef fish and other marine organisms.
