Federico Bernardini

Federico Bernardini is the Associate Director of NYUAD's Center for Behavioral Institutional Design (C-BID). With a background in astrophysics (PhD from the University of Rome) and prior experience as a Marie Curie Fellow, he has contributed significantly to NYUAD since he joined in 2014. 

Bernardini's diverse roles include advancing philanthropy in the Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO), fostering partnerships in the division of Engineering, and building a robust research and educational ecosystem in the Center for Interacting Urban Networks (CITIES), where, among other things, he contributed to the design of a new PhD program in Urban Science.

In his current role at C-BID, Bernardini implements strategic partnerships and co-leads applied behavioral research initiatives for welfare-enhancing institutions. He connects the center with local and international partners to solve practical, real-world problems, ensuring C-BID continues to lead in applying behavioral social science to public policy.
