Your Library, Your Voice

Since the NYU Abu Dhabi Library survey in February 2023, the Library team has been working to continuously enhance your Library experience. 

What Have We Done With Your Feedback?

The results provided the NYUAD Library with valuable data for long-term strategic planning. This feedback has also translated into some of the below service upgrades and improvements for the community.

Some actioned feedback includes:

• Creating a series of Library workshops to introduce the community to our physical spaces and services, as well as exploring a variety of topics such as Prompt Engineering for ChatGPT, AI Search Engines, using Zotero for Research Management, and more.
• All faulty table lamps in the Library have been repaired or replaced for your comfort.
• The temperature in the Library has been regulated. We will continue working with the facilities team to ensure a comfortable temperature range throughout the year.
• As part of our inclusivity efforts, our annual Celebration of Scholarship celebrates the scholarly or creative work of our students, staff, and faculty. A call for submission to showcase your work will take place in spring 2024.
• Making the Library’s film collections and current DVD film resources more accessible. DVD drives are available on the Library’s PCs, as well as from the Center for Academic Technology for checkout. We also have a wide range of video streaming collections.

Some work-in-progress improvements include:

• Creating signage for the Library stacks to help you understand and navigate the Library’s collections using Library of Congress call numbers.
• A campaign to regulate the noise level within the Library is also being planned, in addition to making clear signage for our silent Reading Room upstairs.
• 10 additional standing desks and beanbags have been ordered for the Library.
