Artificial intelligence is transforming how we learn, make decisions, and address challenges in healthcare and population health. How can we ensure these technologies actually improve people's lives? Drawing on research and collaborations across healthcare, government, industry, and education, this talk examines the relationship between AI, human expertise, and population health. Through examples from clinical practice, public health decision-making, and education, we explore how AI reshapes professional judgment, how we develop the expertise needed to evaluate these technologies, and what individuals and institutions need to ensure AI contributes to better health.
