Have you ever wondered what it takes to survive—and thrive—in the most extreme environment on Earth? Join us for an extraordinary lecture with Ahmed Alkaabi, Head of Meteorological and Geophysical Studies Section, and Badr Al Ameri, Senior Application Engineer, from the National Center of Meteorology, as they recount their journey to Antarctica as part of the UAE’s first official scientific mission to the South Pole. This talk will uncover the scientific objectives of the mission, including the installation of an automated weather station and seismic station, and reveal the personal and logistical challenges faced during the expedition. Through captivating storytelling, vivid visuals, and an immersive Virtual Reality experience, you’ll explore the icy frontier as if you were there.
