This talk discusses the biological mechanisms underlying depression, including changes in brain chemistry, stress response systems, and neural circuits. The speaker will also highlight new research into molecular and cellular pathways that may contribute to depression, offering insight into emerging scientific directions. Special attention will be given to the role of circadian rhythms and sleep, now increasingly recognized as key factors in the development and persistence of depressive symptoms.
