Capturing the Cosmos: An Astrophotography Workshop

Join us for Capturing the Cosmos, a free, two-day hybrid workshop designed for beginner and advanced photographers eager to master the art of photography of Arabian night skies. Open to adults aged 18 and up, this immersive program combines theoretical tutorials, astronomy seminars, and hands-on field experience in the Abu Dhabi desert.

This year, our Center is delighted to welcome Ignacio Fernández Gámiz, a professional astrophotographer and wedding photographer based in Granada, Spain. With years of experience capturing Hydrogen-Alpha nebulas and galactic dust — the true poetry of the night sky — Gámiz brings his expertise as an instructor and tour guide with Capturing the Atlas, inspiring night sky enthusiasts around the world.

Participants will gain practical knowledge in planning and executing astrophotography shoots, composing compelling celestial images, and enhancing their results with advanced post-processing techniques.

Workshop Details

• Dates: November 22, 1-9pm; November 23, 12-4pm
• Capacity: 100 participants
  
• Duration: 12 hours total
• Age and skill advisory: 18+ with previous photography experience
• Required supplies: participants may need to provide their own camera and tripod, if possible.
• Certificate: participants who attend the full program will receive a certificate of completion.
