Literary History in the Twenty-First Century

Conference

WHEN April 19, 2024
9:30 AM - 4:30 PM EST WHERE 19 Washington Square North WHO 19 Washington Square North Open to the Public

This program marks the publication of The Oxford History of the Novel in English, Volume 8: American Fiction since 1940. The participants discuss the importance of making visible the aspects of US literary history that have been long neglected. To what degree is the very designation “US literature” still useful, at this point in our cultural history? Do we still need to think in terms of national literatures?

Organized by
